Standard Operating Procedure #6

Battalion Security


1. Each member of the Corps of Cadets is responsible for security. Any action that appears to be a security concern will be brought immediately to the chain of command and the Army Instructor Team.

2. Personal security and safety must be foremost in our daily lives. Any suspicion of possible threat MUST be reported at once to the Army Instructor Team.

3. At a minimum the following security measures will be accomplished:

- Instructor Team:

Insure that all JROTC doors are secured whenever the team is leaving the area.
·
Insure that the security routine is performed for the building when the team is the last one out.
·
Insure that storage cabinets, filing cabinets, and supply room are secured when not in use.
·
Insure that the Instructor’s computer is secured with password protection.
·
Insure a monthly serial number inventory of demilitarized M1’s and air rifles is completed within the first four days of the month.
·
Insure that JROTC test materials are secured.

- Corps of Cadets, S-2 Staff Officer
· Assist where and when needed with the above security items.· Aide in monthly inventory checks.
· Provide security and/or security detail for “Cadet Rides”, field trips and any other exercises involving the Corps of Cadets.
· Report concerns immediately to the Instructor Team.
· Be proactive with all security concerns by initiating action to negate the concern and reporting it to the Instructor Team.

- Corps of Cadets
Ø Watch for security of our unit, its equipment, and the gear of other cadets at all times.
Ø Security is “Everyone’s” concern, do your part!
