JROTC Requirements for a “Cadet in good Standing”

  1. Each new cadet will sign a certificate of acceptance sometime within the first quarter. This certificate validates that you have agreed to live to the standards of the cadet creed.
  2. Each Cadet will be issued a Cadet ID Tag. This tag, also known as a “dog tag”, will be worn at all times when participating in JROTC. The Cadet ID Tags are color coded for different LET years. Silver for LET 1, Brass for LET 2, Black for LET 3 and Red for LET 4. If you are assigned to a leadership position you will also be authorized to wear a “Corps of Cadets Spirit Tag” this tag will signify to all that you are a leader within the Corps of Cadets.
  3. As a basis for promotions, Corps of Cadets assignments, participation in extra curricular teams, and participation in Field Exercises a cadet must be considered “in good standing”.
  4. Causes for being considered NOT in good standing:
    • Class cut(s). After three (3) class cuts you will be considered for release from the Corps of Cadets under US Army Regulation 145-2.
    • Consistantly NOT wearing the uniform on the prescribed uniform day.
    • Failure to adhere by the Cadet Creed.
    • Acts unbecoming a member of the Corps of Cadets.
    • Personal displays of affection while in uniform or while participating in official JROTC activities.
    • Failure to participate.
    • Failure to follow instructions.
    • Failure to repair.
    • Other acts, incidents or misconduct as determined to be NOT within the standards of conduct by the Honor Council and/or the Army Instructor Team.
  5. NCUHS teachers and administrators may ask for your ID card and/or ID tag when they believe that you are in need of counseling by the Army Instructor Team. You WILL give these items to the requestor without incident. This does not mean that you are automatically considered “Not in good standing” but yet it is used as a warning of possible conduct contrary to our standards.
  6. Corps of Cadets “Honor Council” is comprised of Cadet Officers and the Cadet Command SGT. Major and/or the Cadet First Sergeants. The Honor Council will hear issues’ concerning a cadet’s in appropriate actions and recommend corrective courses of action for violations of the Cadet Creed and/or the Corps of Cadets SOP’s. The Honor Council's recommendation will be presented to the Army Instructor Team via the Cadet Battalion Commander, no actions will be taken until the Army Instructor Team has given its approval.
