Standard Operating Procedure #02
Uniform Wear
1.
The Class B uniform (minimum) will be properly worn every other Wednesday
during the school year; it’ll be worn all day while in school.
You will receive an official in ranks inspection of your uniform each
week. The uniform must be
clean and pressed to be considered as properly worn. The following is
provided as the standard of wear:

Wearing of the uniform consists of a Leadership test grade.

If not worn on uniform day then you will receive a zero
grade.
·
If you are absent from school on the uniform day (for any
reason) then you must wear the uniform your next JROTC day.
·
The SAI and/or AI are the only authorized individuals to
validate an acceptable excuse for not wearing the uniform.
· Bad
Weather policy:
> If school is on a delayed opening, due to bad weather (one hour or two hour) you are not
required to wear your uniform
> If the reported temperature before 7:00 AM on the local radio station
(WMOO) is 0 degrees Fahrenheit or less then you are NOT
required to wear your uniform.

3. Male cadets will always be clean-shaven with exception of a mustache. However the mustache must be trimmed so that it doesn’t hang below the upper lip or extend beyond the corner of the mouth. If a male cadet is unshaven the uniform grade is an automatic zero.
4. Male cadet’s hair must be neat and clean worn off the collar.
5. Male cadets are not authorized to wear earrings while in uniform.
6. Male cadets will not wear side burns below the bottom of the ear opening.
7. Male cadets MUST wear a plain white undershirt in Class A or B uniform. The undershirt must not have any logos, pictures or writing and may not hang outside the shirt sleeve.
8. Male/female may not wear dyed hair color that is an unnatural shade (ie: green, florescent shades, etc)
9. Females, as an option, may wear a plain white undershirt with their Class A or B uniform. The undershirt must not have any logos, pictures or writing and may hang not outside the shirt sleeve.
10. Female cadets will wear their hair up off the collar and in a neat hair arrangement without dangling strands. Only black or white hair keepers, no barrettes.
11. Females are not allowed more than one earring in each ear, no hoops or dangling styles.
12. Male/female cadets are not authorized to wear lip rings, eyebrow rings while in uniform.
13. Shoes must be clean, brass (buckle and torches) must be shined.
14. No PDA allowed. Public Displays of Affections are not be tolerated by anyone.
15. No profanities. We hold ourselves to a higher degree of professionalism, and using vulgar or inappropriate language and gestures does not portray our commitment to our Cadet Creed and professionalism.
16. When you are in uniform you will treat everyone with respect on a level that is above and beyond what you normally would.
17. When you are outside, and you pass an officer or the national colors you must render a hand salute. It’s proper courtesy.

Civilian outerwear is
authorized to and from school only if the Army Windbreaker/Jacket
has not been issued. Once at
school you must remove any civilian coats/sweaters.
The windbreaker will be worn zipped up to at least ¾ of the way or
removed from wear. As a personal option (no expense to the Corps of
Cadets or NCUHS) you may purchase a solid black sweatshirt, without hood,
and wear it as a warmer over the Class B Army Green shirt. When worn
you will have the Class B shirt collar on the outside of the neck opening.
The rank chevron will be worn on the collar of the Class B shirt when the
sweatshirt is worn.
An example of an approved sweatshirt is on display at
the classroom. Sweatshirts that are not in keeping with the authorized
example will not be worn. The Army Instructor Team will give notice as to
the dates of wear for each school year and they will generally be from November
1st through the 30th of April. Other non wear dates will be briefed by the
Army Instructor team.
19. You may NOT change out of your uniform during the day, unless you get special permission from either SAI or AI.
20. The attached appendixes give you a guide to setting up your uniform for wear.
21.
Failure to adhere to these SOP items can be cause for Honor
Council action and/or dismissal from the Corps of Cadets.
